About Us
Center for Democracy and Development (CDD) is a non-profit-making NGO registered in the office of the Chief District Officer (CDO) in Kathmandu and the Social Welfare Council (SWC), Government of Nepal. It is a think tank engaged in policy research, and is working to promote democracy and development for peace, stability and prosperity in Nepal through education and awareness-raising from grassroots to the national levels. One of the major programs of CDD in education is Underprivileged Girls Education Support Program (UGESP) running in cooperation with the Little Sisters Fund (LSF) USA.
Objectives
Education and Training: The objectives of CDD are to run educational and training programs for the youth as they are the real agents of political, economic and social change in the nation. Leadership training is another major objective of CDD. We also translate relevant materials from foreign languages into Nepali for greater ease and access to information for the Nepalese youths.
